Lopez Family

,

Richard and Angela Lopez came to Catholic Charities’ Community Connections program after experiencing an unexpected financial hardship. The couple had previously led a comfortable life, raising five children and enjoying their seven grandchildren. They were able to pay bills and manage expenses, but Richard sustained an injury while working in the oilfield, forcing him to leave his well-paying job. During his recovery, the couple relied on savings, cut back on expenses, and searched for new employment. While Richard has since secured full-time work in a different field, the change cut their income in half, leaving them behind on bills, including their TXU account.

Community Connections helped the Lopez family by providing $200 toward their TXU bill, giving them immediate financial relief and breathing room. Staff also provided additional resources, including job leads for Angela, who was seeking employment. The support allowed the couple to focus on stabilizing their finances, caring for their family, and taking steps toward greater comfort and security.

Now, Richard and Angela are moving toward a renewed sense of stability. They can better manage bills, pursue employment opportunities, and continue providing for their family while maintaining peace of mind during a challenging period.

Community Connections exists to meet neighbors like Richard and Angela in moments of financial and personal strain with dignity, stability, and care. To learn more, visit https://catholiccharitiesnw.org/community-connections/
