Michael came to Catholic Charities’ Community Connections program during a period of significant personal and financial hardship. He had recently lost his job, gone through a costly divorce, and was struggling to support himself and his son through odd jobs. On top of these challenges, Michael faced a Reliant utility bill of more than $1,000—an amount he could not cover on his own.

Community Connections helped Michael by pledging $500 toward his Reliant bill and providing additional support, including groceries and a resource list for area food banks. Michael completed the application and appointment process, demonstrating responsibility and readiness to take the necessary steps toward stability. Community Connections also offered guidance on applying for food stamps, attending upcoming job fairs, and addressing mental health needs.

Now, Michael’s life has a renewed sense of hope and possibility. The financial relief has given him the energy and time to focus on finding steady employment, redirecting his path toward a brighter future, and experiencing renewed stability for himself and his son.

Community Connections exists to meet neighbors like Michael in moments of financial and personal strain with dignity, stability, and care. To learn more, visit https://catholiccharitiesnw.org/community-connections/
